High-surf advisory for north, east shores until 6 p.m.

Advertiser Staff

A high-surf advisory remains in effect for all east- and north-facing shores on O'ahu through 6 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service.

Wave faces along north-facing shores will remain at 10 feet to 15 feet throughout the day, while wave faces along east-facing shores will persist at 8 feet to 12 feet, forecasters said.

Surf along west-facing shores will be 4 feet to 8 feet, while south-facing shores can expect surf of 3 feet or less.

A large northwest swell arriving Thursday will result in surf above the advisory threshold of 15 feet along north-facing shores and 12 feet on the west-facing shores late Thursday and Friday, gradually subsiding Saturday.
