Four teens suspected of stealing mopeds on North Shore

Advertiser Staff

A juvenile boy and three young adult males were arrested last night on the North Shore in a pickup truck allegedly carrying three stolen mopeds.

The men, ages 19, 19 and 18, and boy, 17, were booked on suspicion of second-degree theft. Authorities are also seeking forfeiture of the truck.

Police stopped the truck on Kamehameha Highway at 9:26 p.m. after receiving an anonymous report of four males placing a moped in the back of a dark-colored pickup truck in Hale'iwa and driving off toward Kahuku.

The mopeds found in the truck's bed were identified by a motorcycle/moped rental company executive.
