Prep football: Mid-Pacific's Shibata commits to Navy

Mid-Pacific Institute senior Matt Shibata has made a verbal commitment to play football at the U.S. Naval Academy, according to Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance director Doris Sullivan.

Shibata, a 6-foot, 185-pound receiver for Pac-Five, will first attend the Naval Academy Prep School in Newport, R.I.

Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada, a Kapolei graduate who was Navy's starting quarterback the past two seasons, also attended the Navy Prep School before attending Navy's campus in Annapolis, Md.
