Forecast: Light winds, dry conditions for next few days

A high pressure area over the islands will keep winds light and and conditions fairly dry today and tomorrow, resulting in low temperatures at night, according to the National Weather Service.

As the high shifts to the northeast and strengthens, the trade winds will pick up, leading to an increase in windward area showers, forecasters said.

Here's a closer look at what to expect during the next few days:

Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 78. East wind between 11 and 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tonight: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. East wind around 11 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: Scattered showers, mainly before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. East wind between 7 and 11 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Friday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. East wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday: Scattered showers before noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 80. East wind between 9 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 66. East wind around 11 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.
