Show on Hawaii climate changes to be rebroadcast

Advertiser Staff

Due to strong positive response from the viewing public, the documentary "Hawaii's Climate Crisis" will rebroadcast at 9 p.m. Saturday on KHON 2, according to a news release.

The one-hour program examines the impact global climate change will have on Hawai'i. Will rising sea levels turn Waikiki into a Polynesian Venice? Will changing weather patterns dampen the visitor industry? Is there anything the people of Hawai'i can do to head off a coming climate crisis?

The program premiered on Jan. 15, immediately after the season premiere of "American Idol."

In the same way that former Vice President Al Gore first exposed the science behind climate change to many Americans, "Hawaii's Climate Crisis" illustrates how global warming presents unique challenges for Hawai'i and will require unique actions if we are to lessen its impact.
