High-surf advisory for Oahu's north, east shores

Advertiser Staff

A high-surf advisory remains in effect for all east- and north-facing shores on O'ahu.

Surf along northern shores is expected to drop a bit this morning, to 8 feet to 12 feet, and then bounce back up to 10 feet to 15 feet later today, the National Weather Service said.

Surf rolling up on the eastern shores will diminish a bit today to 6 feet to 10 feet.

West-facing shores will see wave faces of 4 feet to 8 feet, while surf along the southern shore is expected to be 2 feet to 4 feet, forecasters said.

The north-northeast swell will subside this morning, but a new northwest swell due in this afternoon and will continue into Saturday. The northwest swell will likely produce advisory-level surf, as will additional swells into the early part of next week.
