Pedestrian, 81, seriously injured on Kauai

An 81-year-old Kaua'i man was seriously injured today after being struck while crossing Kaumuali'i Highway in Kalaheo.The man was taken to Kaua'i Veteran's Memorial Hospital and is in guarded condition.
Police said the pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk fronting Holy Cross Church at 7:05 a.m. when he was struck by a westbound vehicle driven by a 53-year-old male visitor from New Mexico.
