Dr. Frederic Brandt, a Miami and New York City dermatologist, is often interviewed in fashion and beauty magazines regarding injectables such as Botox and Restylane. He warns of the "S Factors": stress, sun and sugar. His real focus, however, is what goes into the body. That's why he wrote "10 Minutes 10 Years" (Free Press). The primary enemy of an aging face, he contends, is sugar. He blames the loss of collagen and elastin fibers on sugar: Loss leads to sagging skin and those dreaded wrinkles.
