High-surf advisory for Oahu's north, east, west shores

The National Weather Service has issued a high-surf advisory for the east-, north- and west-facing shores on O'ahu.

Surf along north-facing shores is expected to climb to 12 feet to 18 feet today, forecasters said.

Along west-facing shores, surf will likely build to 8 feet to 12 feet.

And surf along east-facing shores is expected to be 6 feet to 10 feet this morning before declining to 4 feet to 7 feet later in the day.

Surf along south-facing shores is expected to be 2 feet to 4 feet today.

The new northwest swell will slowly lower through Saturday. Another northwest swell is expected to arrive on Sunday, peak Monday, then slowly lower through Wednesday.
