Trade winds due to make a return sometime today

Trade winds are due to roll back into town today bringing increased rain showers with them, especially over the Big Island and Maui county, according to the National Weather Service.

The trades are expected to become established by Monday and continue into next week, forecasters said.

Here's how the next few days are shaping up:

Today: Mostly sunny until afternoon then becoming partly sunny. Isolated showers until afternoon...then scattered showers late in the afternoon. Highs around 78. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Tonight: Partly cloudy. Scattered showers in the evening...then isolated showers after midnight. Lows 61 to 71. East winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Saturday: Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs around 79. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 62 to 71. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs around 79. East winds 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Sunday Nigh: Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 61 to 70. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
