Hawaii index drops as recession worries persist

The Bloomberg-Honolulu Advertiser Hawai'i Index fell again as worries about a recession continued to dog stock markets.

The 11-member stock index dropped 0.53 points to 82.03, as six issues dropped, four rose and one remained unchanged.

Decliners were led by Bank of Hawaii, which was off 53 cents, or 1.2 percent, to $43.07 and Hawaiian Electric Industries, which was down 33 cents to $21.67.
