Preps: No. 8 Hilo girls upset No. 4 Konawaena

KEALAKEKUA, Hawai'i — Vicky Tagalicod scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the eighth-ranked Hilo High School girls basketball team to a 40-36 win over Konawaena in a Big Island Interscholastic Federation game last night.

The Vikings improved to 6-1. The Wildcats, defending state champions and ranked fourth in the Advertiser's statewide Top 10 poll of coaches and media, fell to 4-2.
