Jet fighters to leave Kaneohe early today for California

MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII, Kaneohe Bay — Six F/A-18 jets from Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 314 will depart the Marine Corps Air Facility at approximately 7 a.m. this morning for Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif.

Residents may notice an increase in noise levels at Marine Corps Air Facility during their departure.

VMFA-314 is a United States Marine Corps fighter squadron consisting of F/A-18 Hornet jets. The squadron is attached to Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing.

The squadron's call sign is known as "Black Knights." VMFA-314 has been in service since World War II.
