Accident closes Waipahu exit on westbound H-1

The Waipahu offramp in the westbound direction of the H-1 and the right most lane in that area has been closed due to a motor vehicle accident.The fire department was called to assist when initial reports were a person may be pinned in the vehicle. An ambulance crew as well as police are also at the scene.
A 35-year-old man has been taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition, said Emergency Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic.
The accident occurred before 7 a.m.
