Suspect in Kaneohe beating surrenders to police

A man who allegedly beat another man last night in Kane'ohe surrendered to police today and was arrested for investigation of second-degree assault.

Othai Sayapheth, 32, is being held on four outstanding misdemeanor contempt warrants totaling $700 while police investigate the assault complaint.

According to police, a 32-year-old man suffered cuts over his left eye when he was repeatedly struck in the head by the suspect.

The victim was seated in a 25-year-old woman's van when he was allegedly assaulted at 9 p.m.
