Man, 24, charged with molesting girl in McCully

Advertiser Staff

Prosecutors yesterday charged a 24-year-old man with molesting a teenage girl in McCully.

Rodney Selkar, 24, who listed no permanent local address, was charged at 7:15 p.m. with one count each of third-degree sex assault, attempted third-degree sex assault and kidnapping. His bail is $30,000, pending his initial appearance Tuesday at District Court.

Selkar is accused of restraining a girl, 15, outside a McCully apartment yesterday morning and making sexual contact with her. The victim was able to break free when a girlfriend, 14, came out of the apartment to look for her.

Police arrested Selkar at 5:15 a.m. on Pau Street.

According to investigators, Selkar does not know the girls and was a former tenant of the apartment when the attack occurred.
