Warriors land defensive tackles Hanohano, Correa

Saint Louis School defensive tackle Geordon Hanohano, an Advertiser All-State first-team player, today accepted a football scholarship from the University of Hawaii.

"There were a lot of reasons," said Hanohano, who is listed at 6 feet 3 and 270 pounds. "I felt it would be best if I stayed home. It seemed like (the coaches) really wanted me to come to UH."

He said he considered Arizona and UNLV, but "I always had UH on the top of my list."

Also, defensive tackle Haku Correa of Damien has accepted a UH offer.

Correa is the younger brother of former UH defensive end La'anui Correa.

"I feel I needed to stay home," Correa said.

Correa was recruited by Arizona and San Diego State. He visited the SDSU campus.
