A fire that broke out at Kauai Pasta in Lihue this morning did $200,000 in damage, firefighters said.

The fire was contained to the kitchen area. No one was in the restaurant at the time.

Firefighters and rescue specialists from the Lihue fire station responded to the 5:33 a.m. alarm. Upon their arrival, they saw flames coming from a side window at the restaurant.
