Baseball: Proctor, Dodgers agree to $1.1M, 1-year deal

LOS ANGELES — Reliever Scott Proctor and the Los Angeles Dodgers agreed to a one-year contract worth $1,115,000, avoiding salary arbitration.Proctor had asked for $930,000 in arbitration and had been offered $1.3 million. He made $445,923 last season, when the Dodgers acquired him from the New York Yankees on July 31 for Wilson Betemit.
Proctor was 2-5 with a 3.81 ERA in 52 games with the Yankees and 3-0 with a 3.38 ERA in 31 games with the Dodgers.
He was frequently used in New York by manager Joe Torre, who left the Yankees and became manager of the Dodgers.
Left-hander Joe Beimel is the last remaining Dodgers player in arbitration. He asked for $2,125,000 and was offered $1.7 million. He made $912,500 last year after losing in arbitration.
