Doris Duke theater launching Friday film program

Friends of Film Friday kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8 at The Doris Duke Theatre at the Honolulu Academy of Arts.
The 10-week sessions features premieres and new releases of foreign, independent and restored classic films. A guest speaker will introduce each film program and lead a post-screening discussion. Filmmaker and Pacific Network TV founder Edgy Lee will present the first film.
Membership is limited to just 280.
Cost: $15 (includes pre-screening dessert and punch, and discounts at shops, restaurants and service), packages available for more than one screening.
