Japanese Cultural Society offers grants, scholarship

Advertiser Staff

The Japanese Cultural Society of Maui is offering grants to fund Japanese educational and cultural programs at schools. The money can be used to purchase books, supplies and other materials.

Students participating in the programs will display their work at the 2008 Maui Matsuri scheduled for May 17.

The cultural society also is accepting applications for its annual scholarship to be awarded to a graduating high school senior who promotes and perpetuates the Japanese culture through education and/or the arts. The scholarship application deadline is April 15.

For more information on school grants or the scholarship, contact Tiffany Iida at 276-5444 or e-mail tiida@hawaiianisp.com, or visit www.jcsmaui.com.
