MAUI NATIVE FOREST PLANTING — The Maui Dryland Forest Restoration Group will do planting in the Auwahi native forest enclosure 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday; meet at 'Ulupalakua Ranch Store. MAKIKI WAI — The O'ahu Na Ala Hele Trail and Access program and the Hawai'i Nature Center need volunteers 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and Feb. 23 to weed, pick up branches, plant, and fertilize native plants for forest restoration. Bring long pants, long-sleeved shirt, shoes or boots, gloves, insect repellent, water and lunch. Meet at the Makiki Forestry Baseyard; families welcome. Call Aaron Lowe at 973-9782.

POUHALA MARSH RESTORATION — The Hawai'i Nature Center is restoring the largest remaining wetland in Pearl Harbor. Volunteers needed to pull pickleweed and mangrove, 8:30-11:30 a.m. Feb 2. KANE'OHE WETLAND PROJECT — Volunteers needed Feb. 9 to help Sierra Club remove mangrove and other invasive species from wetlands on Marine Corps Base Hawai'i to create habitat for endangered waterbirds. Submit name and contact information by Feb. 7 to Annette Kaohelaulii at 235-5431.
