Melissa Etheridge to perform at Blaisdell Concert Hall

Melissa Etheridge, a Grammy Award-winning rock singer-composer and a human rights activist, will perform at 8 p.m. March 7 at Blaisdell Concert Hall.

Etheridge's tune, "I Need to Take Up," won a 2007 Best Song Academy Award after being featured in Al Gore's award-winning documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth."

Etheridge is a cancer survivor, diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004, appeared in the 2005 Grammy Awards, bald from chemotherapy, singing a tribute "Piece of My Heart" in a tribute to Janis Joplin.

Tickets: $35, $55, $75 and $100, on sale starting Friday at the Blaisdell box office and TicketMaster locations, including Times Supermarket locations.
