Best surf still along Oahu's north, west shores

Advertiser Staff

A high-surf advisory ended at 4 a.m. today for north- and west-facing shores, the National Weather Service said.

Overnight surf was expected to be 10 feet to 15 feet along northern shores, and west-facing shores were expected to see surf 8 feet to 12 feet. The National Weather Service said surf along north-facing shores will decrease to 6 feet to 10 feet today and surf along west-facing shores will be 5 feet to 8 feet.

Elsewhere, east-facing shores will see surf 4 feet to 6 feet and south-facing shores will see surf 1 foot to 3 feet.

Surf along north- and west-facing shores will gradually decline Wednesday. Strong trade winds will likely boost surf heights along east-facing shores near the high-surf advisory threshold by mid-week, the National Weather Service said.
