Coast Guard transports ill seaman to Honolulu

The Coast Guard yesterday picked up an ill crewmember from the Panamanian-flagged fishing vessel Maja Vestida 100 miles northeast of Hilo for transport to The Queen's Medical Center.The man, 42, was suffering from severe stomach pain, vomiting and breathing problems, according to the Coast Guard.
The fishing vessel's agent contacted the Coast Guard Saturday to arrange for the medical evacuation.
