Preps: Kahuku, East seeds win in White soccer playoffs

Top-seeded Kahuku and all East seeds won their quarterfinal games yesterday at the O'ahu Interscholastic Association White Division boys soccer playoffs.

At Kahuku, the host Red Raiders (8-2-1) blanked Waipahu, the West's fourth seed, 4-0 and third-seeded McKinley beat Nanakuli, the West's second seed, 2-1.

At Kailua, the host and second-seeded Surfriders beat Wai'anae, the West's third seed, 2-0. Farrington, the East's fourth seed, upset West No. 1 Campbell 1-0.

In tomorrow's semifinals at Kahuku, Kailua (6-4-1) plays Farrington (3-7-1) at 5:15 p.m. and Kahuku plays McKinley (5-4-2) at 7.

The winners advance to Saturday's championship game at Mililani. Losers will play in Friday's third-place game for the league's third and final state tournament berth.
