Police arrested a courier at Circuit Court on a $1 million arrest warrant issued after he was indicted today on two counts of criminal solicitation to commit murder.

Anthony Mark Albert, 50, of Waikiki was arrested by Waikiki Crime Reduction Unit officers at Circuit Court, 777 Punchbowl St., at 4:15 p.m. while he was at work.

According to court documents, Albert allegedly attempted to hire two men between Feb. 1, 2006, and Jan. 31, 2007, to murder the husband of his ex-wife and allegedly contracted an undercover police officer to kill the same man in March 2007.

Albert allegedly paid $5,000 for the first attempt, which was never done, and was willing to pay $15,000 to $20,000 to the undercover officer for the murder. The officer was posing as someone interested in the doing the job, the document said.

Albert claimed to have a lot of money invested and expensive property that could be sold to pay for the murder, the document said.

Waikiki CRU officers learned of the plot in February 2007, according to court papers.
