Doris Duke Theatre offers 8-day Bollywood film fest

The Doris Duke Theatre goes Bollywood with a retrospective of India's most celebrated cinematic genre. These wildly popular movies often have several things in common: melodrama, comedy, lavish costumes, handsome leading men and beautiful leading ladies, and segments of song and dance.Tickets are $7 general, $6 seniors, students and military, $5 museum members. 532-8700. The lineup:
Based on an episode in the life of Mughal prince Jahangir — also known as Salim, son of the conqueror Akbar — whose love for a slave turns him against his father. Presented by Shiraz Jivani, owner of the multicultural megaplex NAZ8 Cinema in California; also Q&A with Jivani after screening.
