Windward Community College is offering a one-session course called "Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People," 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 4.

Instructor Robert Laughlin, a professional pianist , author, and teacher will explain the fundamentals of chord piano playing for adults.

In the early 1980s Laughlin, working through California State University, devised the system for learning the piano in just one day. The program is in great demand and has been presented to some 200,000 adults, and it is the inspiration for "Piano in a Flash" on PBS.

A professional piano player for more than 30 years, Laughlin's styles include jazz, blues, rock, country, and piano bar. He began teaching in Hawaii in 1986.

Only one session will be offered. Previous music knowledge helpful but not necessary.
