Advertiser Staff

Both Hawai'i golfers Dean Wilson and Parker McLachlin made the cut today in the Buick Invitational in San Diego.

Wilson, a Castle High alum and former Kane'ohe resident, shot 1-under 71 and is 4-under 140 overall. He is tied for ninth place.

Wilson had five birdies and four bogeys in today's round.

Tiger Woods leads the tournament at 12-under 132.

McLachlin, whose father Chris is recovering from a stroke he suffered last Saturday, shot a 1-over 73 today and is at 2-under 142, good for 28th place.

McLachlin had three birdies and four bogeys, including three in a row from holes 11-13. He birdied the 18th.

The cut, which reduces the 156-player field to about half for weekend play, was 1-over 145.
