Hilo's Ebanez falls in ShoXC Challenger Series

Hilo's Ross Ebanez lost to Eddie Alvarez of Philadelphia in the main event of the ShoXC Challenger Series tonight at Atlantic City, N.J.Alvarez controlled the first round, then won it by TKO in the second with a series of unanswered punches. The referee stopped the bout, 2:32 into the second round.
Alvarez improved to 12-1; Ebanez dropped to 16-6.
In the opening bout of the card, Wai'anae's Kala Kolohe Hose defeated Frederic Belleton of France by knockout in the first round.
Hose dropped Belleton with a right hand, ending it at 4:32 into the opening round.
Hose, who is scheduled to face Iowa's Robbie Lawler for a world title later this year, improved to 5-1, with all his wins via knockout. Belleton dropped to 5-2.
The card was televised nationally on the Showtime cable network.
