Pre-grand opening party at Rum Fire on Fat Tuesday

Rum Fire, the new Honolulu nightlife destination at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel, will host a Mardi Gras 2008 pre-grand opening celebration on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 5Doors will open at 6 p.m. for the pau hana crowd, with the festivities continuing till 2 a.m. amid Mardi Gras-style decor and entertainment.
The intent is to create the spirit of a traditional Bourbon Street carnivale, New Orleans style.
Those attending are asked to don Mardi Gras costumes; there will be a contest for a roundtrip for two to Las Vegas. There will be a bead competition, too — who wears the most, who has the largest.
And the first 500 attendees will receive a bottle of Brew Moon or Coors Light hosted by Rum Fire.

The cover charge will include beads, hats and masks.
