200 female gymnasts to compete at district park

More than 200 female gymnasts from Hawai'i and elsewhere will compete in the Gymnastics in Paradise international meet today through Sunday at the 'Aiea District Park Gym.

The public meet, sponsored by the Hawaiian Island Twisters Gymnastics Club, will include gymnasts from 20 teams from Hawai'i, Japan, Canada, Alaska, California, Texas and Washington.

Advanced-level gymnasts will compete tomorrow from 4 to 8 p.m. Intermediate gymnasts will compete today from 5 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Beginners will compete Sunday from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

The fee is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 to 18. Children under 5 years old have free admission. An all-day pass covering admission to all Saturday sessions is $15.
