Drift series set for Aloha Stadium this weekend

 •  Sand soccer offers fun alternative to tradition

The Punishum Motorsports Drift Series will be tomorrow and Sunday at Aloha Stadium.

The event is sanctioned by NOPI Motorsports, a national association, and will be held in the Lower Halawa parking lot from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.

Some top drifters will compete, including Sammy Tiger, Kris Milano and Verena Mei.

Hawai'i drivers will compete against top drifters to qualify for a national competition license. This event will also be broadcast on the Speed Channel and on NOPI's national Web sites at a later date.

Parking will be available for $1 per person (ages 12 and older). The Aloha Stadium Swap Meet will also be open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days in the inner circle parking lot.

KANEOHE MARINE BASE ITT (NEXT TO THE COMMISSARY)

Prices are $25 for both days (pre-sale only) or $20 per day at the gate.
