Gibson lifts UH men to 58-53 victory over Idaho

Advertiser Staff

Guard Matt Gibson, kept out of the starting lineup because of disciplinary reasons, lead Hawai'i with 16 points in a 58-53 victory over Idaho tonight in a Western Athletic Conference men's basketball game at Moscow, Idaho.

Hawai'i is 8-11 overall and 4-3 in the WAC. Idaho is 5-14 and 2-6.

Gibson's role was part of disciplinary action by head coach Bob Nash on the senior point guard. Gibson did not participate in the team's practice on Friday because of what Nash described as "a case of insubordination."

Bobby Nash and Jared Dillinger each scored 12 points for UH. Idaho's Jordan Brooks led all scorers with 17 points.
