Daily economy parking rates at airport raised to $8

The economy daily parking rate at the Honolulu International Airport was increased to $8 earlier this month.The economy parking lot was opened in November and had an introductory parking rate of $5 per day. The lot is at the corner of Aolele Street and Lagoon Drive and provides 360 uncovered parking stalls and eight handicapped spaces.
The economy lot is in service from 5 a.m. until the arrival of the last flight at approximately midnight. Free shuttle service is provided between the economy parking lot and the airport terminals.
State sheriffs and airport security monitor the area overnight.
Travelers planning to use the economy lot should arrive 45 minutes earlier than usual to provide enough time to catch the shuttle and check in.
Drivers can only enter and exit the economy lot from Aolele Street.
