MELBOURNE, Australia — Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, the unseeded Frenchman who reached the final of the Australian Open, will be in the Top 20 for the first time when rankings are released tomorrow.

Tsonga will be 18th following his loss to Novak Djokovic in today's final at Melbourne Park. He entered the tournament at No. 38.

Roger Federer, who lost in the semifinals to No. 3 Djokovic, held his No. 1 ranking as the top six players remained unchanged. Justin Henin retained the top spot despite losing in the quarterfinals to eventual winner Maria Sharapova.

Runner-up Ana Ivanovic moves up a spot to No. 2, swapping places with Svetlana Kuznetsova.

The 22-year-old Tsonga upset No. 2 Rafael Nadal and four other top 15 players during his run to his first final.

"Not everybody can beat the players I beat," he said. "Of course I'm confident now."

Nadal stayed at No. 2, followed by Djokovic, No. 4 Nikolay Davydeno, No. 5 David Ferrer and No. 6 Andy Roddick.

Mikhail Youzhny, who lost in the quarterfinals to Tsonga, moves from No. 14 to No. 8. James Blake, who lost to Federer in the quarterfinals, moves to No. 9 from 15th.

Andy Murray, knocked out in the first round by Tsonga, drops from ninth to No. 12, while Fernando Gonzalez, who lost in last year's final to Federer, plummets from No. 7 to No. 24 after losing in the third round.

Daniela Hantuchova, who lost to Ivanovic in the semifinals, moves up one spot to No. 8.

Ivanovic lost in straight sets to Sharapova, who will remain fifth. Ivanovic was pleased with her progress in the rankings.

"I really didn't expect that," she said. "That's definitely good, so one more spot to go."

Australian Open semifinalist Jelena Jankovic remains fourth, while Venus Williams, who lost to Ivanovic in the quarterfinals, moves up one spot to No. 7. She moved into her sister Serena's spot, the 2007 Australian champion, who slips to 10th.
