Lanes closed today on H-1 Airport Viaduct

Advertiser Staff

The three right-most lanes will be closed in the westbound direction from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. today for pavement repairs, the state Department of Transportation said.

Alternate routes including the H-201 Moanalua Freeway or Nimitz Highway are recommended to avoid delays.

The closure is for concrete pavement repair work, which is part of a $9.1 million project to repair potholes along a nearly three-mile stretch of the H-1 Freeway Airport Viaduct (top deck) between Middle Street and Valkenburgh Street.

All on-and-off-ramps will remain open during this time.

To minimize vibrations along the viaduct while the concrete cures, the speed limit near the repair area will be reduced to 15 mph.

Special duty police officers will be on-site to enforce this speed limit.
