East shores under high-surf warning

A high-surf warning has been issued for the eastern shores of the Hawaiian Islands until 6 a.m. Monday by the National Weather Service, but the high surf warning along northern shores has been downgraded to advisory level.A northeast swell is expected to peak today and again later tonight in the 10- to 15-feet range before lowering Monday.
At 6 p.m., Hilo police said surf was high but no roads had been closed and no damage reported.
A northwest swell will boost surf heights to near advisory levels along the north shore Tuesday, the weather service said.
