Advertiser Staff

Prosecutors charged a 24-year-old man with Thursday's stabbing at a Kalihi store and an earlier robbery at the same location.

Chiefton Martion, 24, charged Friday night with first-degree robbery and second-degree assault is being held on $50,000 bail. In addition, his deferred acceptance of guilty plea for a prior offense has been revoked and an additional $11,000 bail has been added to his total amount.

According to police, Martion entered Corner Market, 517 North Vineyard Blvd., to buy cigarettes on Thursday when he was recognized by a man, 53, as the suspect who robbed the store a week earlier. While fleeing, Martion allegedly stabbed another man, 54, in the arm.

Martion was arrested at 8:22 p.m. in a nearby parking lot.
