UH's Tanya Smith is WAC basketball player of week

University of Hawai'i center Tanya Smith is the Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball player of the week for helping the Rainbow Wahine to a split last week with back-to-back career highs in rebounds and points.Smith, a native of Sydney, Australia, had a WAC record 25 rebounds against Idaho and a career-high 25 points against Boise State.
Against Idaho she managed 14 points and had 17 rebounds against Boise State.
The 25 rebounds was the most in a WAC regular season game and tied the overall mark of 25 by Cheryl Ford of Louisiana Tech in 2003.
