NFL: Bills sign tight end Teyo Johnson

Associated Press

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y.— Tight end Teyo Johnson signed with the Buffalo Bills today, attempting a comeback after missing all of last season with an injury.

Selected by Oakland in the second round of the 2003 draft, Johnson has three years' NFL experience but has not played since being released by Arizona during the 2005 season. He has 26 catches for 288 yards and three touchdowns in 30 games.

Johnson hurt his calf and was released by Denver in August after reaching an injury settlement with the team.

The Bills are depleted at tight end, with two returning players under contract: starter Robert Royal and Derek Schouman, the second of Buffalo's two seventh-round draft picks last year.
