Advertiser Staff

With surf expected to rise to 12 feet to 16 feet today, the National Weather Service has issued a high-surf advisory for north-facing shores, and also for eastern shores where surf will be 6 feet to 8 feet.

Surf along west shores is also on the rise. The latest National Weather Service forecast calls for surf along west shores to reach heights of 8 feet to 10 feet.

South shores will see surf of 1 foot to 3 feet.

The current northwest swell will slowly subside through Thursday night. A moderate northwest swell will arrive Friday and be reinforced by another moderate northwest swell on Saturday. The northeast swell will gradually diminish through Friday. A northeast swell may build again next weekend.
