Interim dean of natural sciences named at UH

Botany department chair and professor Alan H. Teramura has been appointed interim dean of the University of Hawai'i at Manoa's College of Natural Sciences, pending appointment of a permanent replacement.

Teramura has been the botany chair since 2005. He has formerly served as director of the Lyon Arboretum, senior vice president for research and dean of the graduate division at UH. He earned his doctorate in physiological ecology from Duke University, and his master's and Bachelor of Arts degrees from California State University at Fullerton.
