Hilo man missing since December sought on Big Island

Big Island police are asking for the public's help in locating a 37-year-old Hilo man who has been missing since Dec. 20.

Bounxou Saychantha of no permanent address is described as 5-foot-2, 125 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He is known to frequent the area surrounding the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium. He has a medical condition that requires medication.

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the Police Department's nonemergency number at 808-935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call CrimeStoppers at 808-961-8300 in Hilo or 808-329-8181 in Kona.
