Winter weather advisory for Big Island summits

A winter weather advisory has been issued for Big Island summits through 6 a.m. tomorrow, the National Weather Service said.Up to 3 inches of snow could fall today, with an additional 1 inch to 2 inches tonight.
The advisory is for the summits of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea.
Freezing rain could be mixed with the snow at times, creating hazardous driving conditions.
The advisory is for summits 8,000 feet above sea level.
A winter advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will make travel difficult.
