WAILUKU
Maui Memorial starting free heart-care program

Advertiser Staff

Maui Memorial Medical Center will launch a comprehensive community cardiovascular wellness program on Feb. 25.

The free Malama Pu'uwai (Take Care of Your Heart) series will run Mondays from 5-7 p.m. through March 31.

The program is aimed at promoting wellness through early detection and modification of cardiovascular disease risk factors.

Participants will undergo a health assessment and lifestyle profile, blood pressure evaluation, laboratory tests for blood glucose and cholesterol, a half-hour of exercise per session, and a healthful meal sponsored by the Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation.

After the six-week program, follow-up meetings will be held six months and a year later.
