Comment sought on transportation project revisions

Advertiser Staff

The public can comment by mail, fax or e-mail until Feb. 19 on the state Department of Transportation's proposed statewide transportation improvement program revision No. 3 for fiscal years 2008-2011. It identifies projects that are to be programmed for federal highway or transit funding.

The intent of revision No. 3 is to address new information on project readiness, such as changes in project development schedules, new cost estimates and updated project priorities, according to state officials. Information on the changes is at http://www6.hawaii.gov/dot/stp/stip/fy2008-2013-revisions.htm.

Changes to the O'ahu portion of the program have been processed as transportation improvement program revisions by the O'ahu Metropolitan Planning Organization.

Hard copies of the proposed statewide transportation improvement program can be obtained by calling 808-687-6355.

Revision comments should be mailed to the Highway Planning Branch, 869 Punchbowl St., Room 301, Honolulu, HI 96813; faxed to 808-587-1787, or e-mailed to hwy.stip.projects@hawaii.gov.
