Advertiser Staff

A U.S. Coast Guard rescue aircrew hoisted an injured man from a cargo vessel approximately 12 miles south of O'ahu today at approximately 6 a.m.

A Coast Guard flight mechanic aboard a rescue helicopter from Air Station Barbers Point hoisted the 28-year-old man from the Norwegian-flagged motor vessel Taronga.

The injured man, suffering from a broken knee, was flown to Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point, where local emergency medical services personnel were waiting. The man was then transferred to The Queen's Medical Center.
