Kauai submits progress report on tourism plan

Advertiser Staff

Kaua'i County has submitted a progress report on its Tourism Strategic Plan to the Hawai'i Tourism Authority, outlining action taken during 2007 on the plan's objectives, a news release said.

The tourism strategic plan goals include increasing the economic contribution of the visitor industry to Kaua'i, maintaining and improving visitor satisfaction, reinforcing authentic Hawaiian culture, and contributing to the preservation and enhancement of the county's natural resources, the release said.

Overall responsibility for implementation of the plan lies with the county's Office of Economic Development, but many entities are involved in doing the actual work.

The Kaua'i Tourism Strategic Plan can be viewed in its entirety, along with the 2007 Progress Report, on the county's Web site: www.kauai.gov/OED.
